Culture, Family, and The Archive
I am ethnically and culturally Ashkenazi Jewish on my father’s side, and practicing Reform Jewish. Though my mother is white, she grew up in Hilo, Hawai’i. As such, I grew up with elements of Hawaiian culture. I have continually struggled with how to navigate these identities: privileges, conditionalities, and being raised with cultures that are not my own.
