Roadkill and other Animal Products

I was a recipient of Carleton College’s Summer 2024 Independent Research Fellowship. With the funding from this fellowship, I learned animal processing from Mei Jardstrom. That summer, I found out that I had a torn hip labrum, which might require a surgery with a long recovery time, and was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Working with the scavenged bodies of animals helped me explore my relationship with my own body. Pain is visceral, and not always poetic.
